The Salomon S/LAB Shift MNC ski bindings have been designed for the practice of mountain skiing and touring with a very easy and simple change system for those skiers who want to try the best of both worlds.
The French house inserted an elastic displacement that reduces the early release of the boot in the event of a fall. With their long lashes on the toe, you will have greater security and transmission of power. These frame bindings are built with carbon and aluminum materials which give you rigidity and resistance without losing lightness.
The DIN is 6-13 so a regular skier will feel safe with these Salomon bindings, which are compatible with the use of crampons. They have been certified by the MNC and TÜV whose safety standards and levels were exceeded.
Uphill freedom plus downhill power equals zero compromise.
The new SLAB SHIFT MNC binding ushers in the next generation of freeride capability, blending the touring efficiency of a pin (low-tech) binding, with the performance of an alpine freeride binding.
For skiers who like to push the boundaries of the mountain and their skiing, SHIFT to the first ever truly compromise-free binding.

At first I was skeptical: Equipment that promises too many functions at once usually has the disadvantage that it doesn't really fulfill any of the promised functions. The Salomon Shift is the big exception here. After a year of intensive use, I can only say: amazing bond! Downhill alpine binding with great hold and comparatively low weight, upward pleasant touring binding, which is a little heavier than a regular pin binding, but the deep snow downhill sections also ensure that the ski won't sail into the valley without you. The mechanism needs a bit of practice in the dry until every move is properly seated on the summit (watch out for your fingers! Never reach between the stopper and the ski!). Even after a year everything works perfectly and I would recommend this binding without reservation to downhill-oriented freetourers. Pure tourers probably want something lighter.

Great replacement for the frame tech bindings of yesteryear. They're a bit heavy for something to only tour on, but as a primarily resort\sidecountry binding with the option to tour that has the correct pivot motion, they're awesome. They charge!

I researched bindings heavily before grabbing these. I needed on piste performance with side/backcountry capability. These don't disappoint. After doing both with them extensively, I can say they perform above my expectations. On piste I'm aggressive and love to hit jumps. Zero issues. Off piste, they obviously have a little extra weight from a standard tech binding, but it's worth it. A couple of notes - make sure your brake width is wide enough, but not too wide. Breaks that are too wide may catch each other while skinning. You might have to take 10 seconds longer during transitions to get the snow/ice cleaned out to assure they switch well. Just do it and don't whine! Great Binding.

This is a great buy with a good discount! It came with the 100mm break but looks like it would fit onto the Line Sakana 105 waist just perfect. Have not mount it yet because it didn't come with any binding template.
