Bifrost is your ultimate insulated jacket for ski mountaineering and touring. It’s fully waterproof with taped seams, making it ideal for a wide range of mountain temperatures and activities, from skinning on super cold days to using on breaks while ascending and descending from the peaks. The Bifrost Hooded Jacket is made from Levitend® fabric in a twolayer Cutan® construction and comes equipped with reinforcements on the shoulders, bottom sleeves and hips. It’s insulated with Re:Down with a fillpower of 700f and has fully taped seams for waterproofness. Features include a twoway front zipper with an inner placket for water runoff, a 3D-adjustable hood, and highly placed hand pockets to avoid harnesses and hip belts.

Technology:

Levitend®:
- Levitend® are our Polyamide based apparel fabrics. Depending on the intended use, Levitend® can include a mix of other fibers, such as polyester and Elastane. Our goal is to make Levitend® fabrics in full compliance with our strict requirements for sustainability and quality.
- Polyamide (Nylon) is a synthetic fiber that creates extraordinarily strong and versatile fabrics with high abrasion resistance, very good resilience to wear and tear, and a high breaking extension.
- The Polyamides we use are derived from recycled, bio-feedstock and virgin sources. Please see ‘Polyamide’ for more information about the different choices regarding the origin of Levitend®.

Re:down®:
- Re:down® is a company that produces filling materials, using 100 percent recycled feathers extracted from post-consumer goods. Re:down® have set their mind on using the most environmental friendly methods to regenerate down and feathers. They use their own thermal water for the washing process, and no fresh water. This water goes through a water recycling system, and is then sent back to earth, clean as drinking water. No chemicals are used, only soap during the washing. The down is sterilized using only high heat, and for their water-resistant finish, they use an ecological, FC-free formula. Also, broken feathers and down fibers are up-cycled into a very efficient organic fertilizer. Today, the factory uses 30 percent solar panel electricity, but they aim to reach 70 percent in the upcoming years.
- The result is high quality, recycled down, with a fill power of up to 90/10 - 700. At Klättermusen, we have chosen to use only their top-quality selection.

Cutan®:
- Cutan® is a proprietary Klättermusen waterproof and ventilating technology developed to improve on existing fabrics both in performance as well as sustainability by developing PTFE-free membranes to become fluorocarbon-free in production. Cutan® fabrics are soft, flexible, have great stretch and are fluorocarbon-free.
- Cutan® Super Stretch consists of three layers: an inside layer in polyamide, a waterproof polyurethane membrane in the middle and an outer fabric of polyamide and stretch fiber. The three fabric layers are laminated together into one single fabric.
- Cutan® Stretch RP consists of three layers; an inside fabric in polyester, a waterproof polyester membrane in the middle and an outer fabric of 100% Recycled Polyester (RP). The three fabric layers are laminated together into one single fabric. Cutan® Stretch RP is 100% recyclable.

Durable Water Repellent:
- Durable water repellent - commonly referred to as DWR, is a treatment which creates a water repellent (hydrophobic) surface on a fabric. The water repellent prevents the fabric from becoming saturated with water which both affects the function of the garment and the user experience.
- All types of DWR become less effective over time, because of wear, washing and ultra-violet radiation from the sun. This degradation over time requires re-proofing the fabrics which can be performed at home using wash-in or spray-on DWR.
- Klättermusen uses DWRs 100% free of fluorocarbons. We were the first outdoor company to completely remove PFOA (one of the most hazardous fluorocarbons) from all garments already in 2008.
- Fluorocarbons are commonly used because they technically are effective – however, they are also an endocrine disruptor proven to cause reproductive harm. Fluorocarbons present a growing problem in nature and the outdoor industry which professes to care about nature.

Bluesign®:
- Bluesign® is a standard for environmental health and safety in textile manufacturing. The bluesign® organization provides independent auditing of textile mills, closely examining manufacturing processes from raw materials and energy inputs to water and air emissions outputs.
- Bluesign® helps us to keep control over the supply chain and choose manufacturing partners based on their commitment to safety and environment.
- The bluesign® approval on our fabrics means that it complies with the highest standards of consumer safety by using materials and techniques that save resources and minimize environmental impact. Klättermusen has been a bluesign® system.


Care:

- Machine wash at 40°C or less on reduced cycle.
