It downt magically warm you though, I'd say its as warm as my old non-down jacket it replaced, even though this one is much thinner and lighter. If you can get it on a discount then it's a great long term buy, but for 200$ it would be too expensive. As for size, bought Medium. I'm 176cm, 76 kg man, fits great over a hoodie but you can't zip up the neck with it (too tight).
