What is it ?
Marmot Down Defender is an insurance policy for your down garments. This specially treated highly water-resistant down offers an extra level of moisture protection for down garments exposed to wet environments. Down Defender helps prevent down from clumping and losing its loft when exposed to water, thereby greatly increasing its ability to keep you warm and comfortable.
- Stays drier 10 times longer than untreated down
- Maintains 150% more loft than untreated down in damp conditions
- Dries 30% faster than untreated down
- Treatment is PFOA and PFOS free
- Bluesign approved

How does it work ?:
The treatment coats the individual plumes of the down cluster with a DWR (durable water repellent) at the molecular level. It puts a hydrophobic layer on each individual plume of the cluster. This treatment is done during the down cleaning process. The finish is extremely durable allowing the down to maintain its water repellency over 20 washes. The treatment also enhances the downs integrity and the durability of the cluster helping to increase its longevity.

Both the hood and the hair are removable. On the torso and forearms it has a built-in fleece lining. It also has a double zip and inside pockets. Very warm and light coat. Nice cut, although a little too tight in the torso (chest, shoulders ...) perhaps because it has an inner layer of fleece; If in doubt between two sizes, take the larger size. Very wearable coat. Happy with the purchase.

Warm and light coat. In terms of size, I took L (despite the "IT advice") and don't regret it, I'm comfortable with a big sweater if necessary. It seems to me that the M would have been too narrow although it is my usual size.

This is a beautiful coat, but the sizing must run small. I am a petite woman, I usually wear a small, and this coat zips real tight with just a light sweater. I don't think it will stretch. The sizing chart indicated a small, so I am disappointed.

Item was exsctly as described. Shipping was quick, exept from one thing; there was no invoice following Constantly the shipment. This caused the parcel two get stuck in customs. Luckily I found out trough the tracking system so I could send the documents two Posten In Norway my self. (Documents was attached to the order confirmation I received by e-mail). The next day the parcel was released from customs and late to my home. If I had not Noticed this glitch my self I don't know how long it would have taken for the item two arrive.

How easy is it to fold this jacket up into a small size for packing in your suitcase when not using it while travelling? Does it come with its own bag?

It folds very easily and takes up very little space. It does not come with a bag but the hood can do the same function.
