Polartec are known worldwide for their range of highly technical fabrics, Lorpen has the exclusive rights to utilise the next to skin fabrics within their fleece socks. Using both Polartec Power Dry and Polartec Power Stretch enables the socks to -

Polartec® Power Dry®:
- Polartec® Power Dry® fabrics are designed to keep your skin dry when you sweat. All fabrics in this series feature a patented bi-component knit construction that uses different yarns on either side of the fabric. This creates two different surfaces: one that is optimized to move moisture away from the skin, the other to dry quickly.

How Does It Work?:
Moisture and high relative humidity next to the skin cause discomfort. Polartec® Power Dry® keeps the skin dry through three complementary mechanisms:
- The fabric is highly breathable and does not restrict the movement of moisture vapor.
- “Touch points“ on the fabric inner surface draw off the sweat. Sweat is wicked off the skin to the outside of the fabric where it spreads rapidly for evaporation. Polartec® Power Dry® fabrics move at least 30% more moisture away from the skin than single component fabrics.
- When the sweat reaches the outside of the fabric, it spreads out to many times its original surface area, enabling it to dry at least 2 times faster than cotton.

Polartec® Power Stretch®:
- Polartec® Power Stretch® fabrics feature body-hugging 4-way stretch and are very breathable. They keep you dry when you sweat and provide warmth without weight. These are the most versatile outdoor and fitness apparel fabrics available today. Many of the fabrics feature a proprietary construction with two unique surfaces: the durable nylon outer layer is wind- and abrasion-resistant; the soft inner layer pulls moisture away from your skin keeping you dry, warm and comfortable.

Lorpen Ski Polartec Power Dry Ultralight socks

Perfect !

After a lot of problems while ski touring because of my feet, I found the perfect sock. No more pain or blisters, it is a thin (but warm) sock that adapts perfectly to the shape of the foot. I bought another pair before the product no longer exists.

The socks are thin and do not create volume at all. The seams are not felt. For my size 27.5 cm I took EU 39-42 and fit perfectly. Recommend.

Very comfortable and warm. They wear a reinforcement on the shin that protects from the pressure of the boot. It's the second pair I buy.

I have tried many different socks but this sock is hands down the best ski sock I have ever owned. The padded shin area is great and the socks is thin in the areas like the toe box area, under foot and around the upper leg area. The socks keep my feet dry. This is a great sock for a ski instructor.
